ADVISORY TEAM In late 1994, when Interface began its journey, the principles underpinning the concept of sustainability were based on the synthesis of a wide range of external sources. Ray Anderson and Interface Research Corporation led this research and synthesis beginning with The Ecology of Commerce by Paul Hawken and Ishmael by Daniel Quinn and later including important works by Dr. Karl Henrik Robert, Dana Meadows, Herman Daly, Lester Brown, Amory Lovins, Jonathon Porritt, Walter Stahel and others. In 1995, Interface formalized this external dialogue with the creation of an "Eco Dream Team." This team included many of the world's most progressive thinkers on sustainability and represented a wide range of environmental and social interests.
