Sustainable Choice™ CertificationInterfaceFLOR CommercialBentley Prince Street, InterfaceFLOR Commercial and FLOR have all certified products to the new Sustainable Carpet Assessment Draft Standard NSF-140 through Scientific Certification Systems. This new draft standard for sustainable carpet replaces the original Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) Standard to which InterfaceFLOR and Bentley Prince Street previously certified their products. The new draft standard has four levels of certification: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. All of Bentley Prince Street’s standard broadloom and carpet tile products are certified as SCS Sustainable Choice Gold/EPP. InterfaceFLOR products on GlasBac® and NexStep® backing systems are certified as SCS Sustainable Choice Gold/EPP. InterfaceFLOR products on GlasBac® RE have been certified as SCS Sustainable Choice Platinum/EPP. All of FLOR’s Fedora™ products have been certified to SCS Sustainable Choice Platinum/EPP. With the introduction of this draft standard, the State of California implemented a mandate regarding all State purchases of carpet (modular and broadloom). All carpet specified for State of California projects must meet the '”California Sustainable Carpet Assessment Standards, California Department of General Services” which requires Gold level in Draft Standard NSF 140, with a number of additional requirements. All Bentley Prince Street standard broadloom products are certified to be “California Gold.” All Bentley Prince Street broadloom products using the optional Prestige PlusRC™ backing and all Bentley Prince Street carpet tile products using EncoreRC® backing, optional on all tile products, also meet California Gold. All of InterfaceFLOR Commercial’s GlasBac RE products are certified to be California Platinum.
